On Monday, I had an appointment in downtown Portsmouth so I decided to walk since it was such a nice cool day.
I decided to take my portable radio with me to make the walk more enjoyable.
About 10 seconds until I reached my destination and was about to turn off my radio, one of my favorite 80’s songs suddenly came on the radio.
So I had to make a crucial decision.
Should I be right on time for my appointment or should I be a few minutes late because the song that came on the radio was one of my favorite’s from my teenage years.
I love the song, even though it’s widely considered to be one of the lamest songs in history.
I don’t care!
I, Tina “Knowledgeable” Peden, love it.
The song by the way is called, “Mr. Roboto” by Styx.
I know!
(Insert your snicker here!)
Anyhoo, I decided to walk around the block again so that I could hear the song in its entirety.
As the song began to play, it started raining, but I didn’t care because I was determined to hear that song.
I haven’t heard it in eons!
Plus, I love it!
So basically I was walking around for a couple of blissful nostalgic minutes listening to one of my favorite lame songs from the 80’s in the pouring rain.
As I was happily walking I noticed a caucasion gentlemen with a smile on his face similar to mine only instead of listening to a headset/radio he was talking on a cell phone.
Neither of us had any umbrellas with us.
Score 1 for “Fearless Americans Not Afraid To Be Electrocuted!”
Score 2 for Technology!
Hooray!
By the by, does anybody know if you can actually be electrocuted from your cellphone while talking on it in the pouring rain?
It’s a dumb question I know, but I don’t really know the answer to.
Please let me know.
