Michelle Obama wore a cute little black and white dress on her guest stint on the morning gabfest, “The View” and sales of the $148.00 dress went through the roof!
In fact the store where Michelle Obama bought the off-the-rack dress, (that’s right I said off-the-rack dress not designer or haute coute dress!) “White House/Black Market” reported that women were literally snatching it up left and right and if you were in their way you would have been trampled!
This occurrence truly shows the gravity of the power of fashion.
And when I say power, I mean POWER!
Alot of people underestimate just how powerful a “cute article of clothing” can be.
But intuitive women like Michelle Obama don’t.
This was oh so planned!
It was a brilliant and inexpensive strategy to help boost her husband’s campaign and give them both more time in the limelight.
This chick took a page right out of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Handbook Of Cute Clothing.
Rule number 1 in this handbook is that “cute clothing” is and will always be power in the hands of the right person. And it certainly was in Jackie Kennedy’s case and it could also prove to be powerful in Michelle Obama’s case as well.
Business lesson: “Cute clothing” starts fashion trends and fashion trends even though they may be short-lived equal attention & acclaim and attention & acclaim equals mass buyers and mass buyers equal mucho money!
This is a sad fact.
Unfortunately in the real world, people don’t always vote for the most qualified candidate for the job sometimes other shallow factors come into play like good looks or “cute clothing.”
Case in point, John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy.
In terms of good looks, fashion and style, John F. Kennedy & Jackie Kennedy delivered a knockout punch to Richard Nixon & Pat Nixon!
Richard & Pat Nixon weren’t even in JFK & Jackie’s league on a bad day.
So John & Cindy McCain if you are listening, you both might want to consider consulting a fashion stylist asap so this election year you will be the JFK & Jackie NOT the Richard & Pat Nixon of election 2008.
P.S. On Saturday night, Donatella Versace dedicated her Spring-Summer 2008 collection — filled with tailored suits and scarves instead of ties — to the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Barack Obama describing the candidate as the “man of the moment” and as a “down-to-earth guy”.
“Cute clothing” totally rules!
